The Breakthrough

Svrcina's 2025 was built the long way, on the Challenger circuit. A hard-court title in Pune in February was followed by a clay title in Barletta in April — a tournament he entered only on a special exempt after rain pushed his Naples semifinal into Sunday and cost him his spot in Bucharest. In August he beat Thiago Agustín Tirante in a three-set Cancún final, and the 125 ranking points that came with the trophy carried him inside the ATP top 100 for the first time.

The tour-level proof came a month later. Beaten in Hangzhou qualifying, he slipped into the draw as a lucky loser and made the most of it — dismissing Berrettini 6-3, 6-3 and going on to a first ATP quarterfinal, with a career-high No. 86 following in November. By early 2026 he was winning a live Davis Cup rubber on debut for Czechia and qualifying for Wimbledon at the fifth attempt.
