Snigur announced herself twice before the breakthrough finally stuck. In 2019 she lifted the Wimbledon girls' trophy, and in 2022 — playing her first-ever Grand Slam main-draw match as a qualifier — she knocked out former world No. 1 Simona Halep at the US Open, then dedicated the win to Ukraine in a tearful on-court interview. But it was early 2026 that turned flashes into a sustained climb: a first WTA semifinal in Cluj-Napoca, a first WTA 125 title at the Oeiras Indoors, and a W75 title in Murska Sobota won without dropping a set carried her into the top 100 for the first time at the end of March.

The rise kept compounding through the summer. At Wimbledon 2026 she beat compatriot Elina Svitolina 7–5, 6–2 in the opening round and reached the third round — her best Grand Slam result — before her ranking peaked at a career-high No. 56 in July.
