The Breakthrough

Tararudee arrived in Austin in March 2026 as a qualifier ranked No. 124 — and left as champion of the biggest title of her career. She came through qualifying without dropping serve, then beat Dalma Galfi, Caty McNally, Anastasia Zakharova and Kimberly Birrell before facing 2019 US Open champion Bianca Andreescu in the final. Her 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win on 14 March capped the week featured here, an eighteen-place jump that set a new career high of No. 106 and put the Top 100 within reach.

She crossed that line on 4 May — the first Thai woman inside the Top 100 since Luksika Kumkhum, and only the fourth in the country's history after Tamarine Tanasugarn, Kumkhum and Mananchaya Sawangkaew. A product of former ATP No. 9 Paradorn Srichaphan's Bangkok academy, she kept climbing: a maiden Grand Slam match win at Wimbledon over junior Roland Garros champion Lilli Tagger, then a second WTA 125 title at the ENKA Open in Istanbul carried her to No. 82 by late July.
